Liquid Gold

We all like a good bargain. Even those of those who appreciate the finer things in life, myself included, like to feel like we’ve got a good deal most of the time. I can buy all the designer products I like and, alongside being utterly skint at the end of the day, I might still not have the best thing for the job. Sometimes spending more money does not necessarily equal getting a better product. And remember; this is a good thing.

So you, and your bank accounts, will be pleased to know that my new favourite product is a total steal.

It’s the Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner. As the name suggests it’s a liquid eyeliner and it rocks in at a bargainous £2.99.

How marvellous is that?! And let me tell you it’s probably one of the best liquid eyeliners I’ve tried in a long time. I picked this bad boy up from Superdrug a few weeks ago and have worn it every single day since. I obviously don’t know yet how long it will last but for just under 3 quid who cares? It’s certainly still going strong at the minute. I mean, lets face it, I could buy 10 of these and it might still be cheaper than buying a single one from everyone’s favourite luxury brand.

Possibly the best thing about this product is the fact that it’s a pen. Therefore it is as easy to use as the felt tip pens they give to small children in school. Although I think they try to keep those pens away from the kid’s eyes.
I never could get away with the liquid eyeliners that come in a little pot with a skinny little brush, nor the ones that come as a sort of little inkwell and have the brush in the lid. I just find that you don’t have much control with those types of applicators.
One line will be thicker than the other, it’ll be all wiggly and fiddly and you can guarantee it will end up looking a right mess. Obviously that’s my opinion and my lack of expertise, but I’m fairly sure I’m not alone in this. I’m far from an expert anyway when it comes to make up but this certainly makes things easier.

My second favourite thing about this eyeliner is the fact that it really does last all day. I’m drawing it on in the morning and I’m having to scrub it off in the evening. That, for me, is the sign of a bloody good eyeliner. The only other one to impress me like this lately has been the Mac Technikohl eyeliner I recently posted about. That one was definitely not £2.99.

I actually heard about this eyeliner on one of ICovetThee’s YouTube video. She seemed very pleased with it and, partially helped by the low low price, I figured I had very little to lose in buying one to try it. I had actually been on the lookout for a new liquid eyeliner for a while now. Because of course, as we all know, the flick is back. This pen is perfect for perfecting the flick. (I haven’t quite managed yet but that’s beside the point)

So yes ladies, I wholeheartedly suggest that you too follow my lead, pop down to your nearest Superdrug, and pick up your very own liquid eyeliner pen from the Collection 2000 stand. I personally very much doubt you’ll be disappointed. And, even if you are, come on, it’s only £2.99…
