Tried & Tested

I am LOVING my new eyeliner. Those who know me will know I’m something of an eyeliner connoisseur/critic. I’ve worn lashings of the stuff over the years, and yet, like with jeans, I’m still constantly searching for The Best. The Holy Grail of eyeliners. One with major pigment, maximum impact, that glides on without any effort and stays put all day, through rain or shine, sweat and tears.

I mentioned in a previous post that I’d requested a few things for my sister to pick up on layover to LA, because certain brands (Mac for example) are considerably cheaper in the US of A.

One of those things was Mac’s Technakhol eyeliner. More of a thin crayon than a pencil, the Technakhol range has been something I’ve wanted to try for a while, mainly because it’s a mechanical pencil, twist up one; I’m lazy so anything I don’t have to sharpen is already earning Brownie points.

I requested the black one, obviously, this is me after all. It’s official title is ‘Graphblack’.

Packaging is standard Mac – nothing to write home about but I always like Mac packaging. I feel like it all looks nice and smart, having all uniform black make up pots and tubes on my dresser.

It *is* very smooth and easy to use, it *does* go on very pigmented and it gives a nice thin line, close to the lashes. The price (£14) isn’t too insulting either. But where this product really seems to come into it’s own is in the wearability. I applied it first thing on the morning, around 7:45am and, without any reapplication, it still appeared to be remarkably in place by the time I got home from work at 7pm that night. I don’t know if any of you have tried this and gotten different results but currently I’m tres impressed by the staying power of this little eyeliner. In fact I’d go so far as to say it outlasted the Bare Minerals Round The Clock eyeliner which had been my previous favourite, for longevity if not pigmentation and ease of application.
I’d love to know if anyone else is getting the same sort of long lasting power from the Technakohl or any other eyeliner I can try.

Currently though, I think we have a winner!
